Following the earlier cover athlete and release date announcements, new details about Madden 25 are finally emerging with Franchise Mode due for upgrades demanded by fans more than a decade ago. Madden 25 Franchise Mode will finally have a Custom Team option, the absence of which has been a massive flaw in the mode for years. Every single other major sports game has a Custom Team option, and Madden 25 is finally catching up thanks to EA Sports College Football 25.

Madden 25 Team Builder brings Custom Teams back to Franchise Mode

For the first time in over a decade, you'll be able to create a customized NFL team of your own. Madden 25 Franchise Mode is due to implement the exact same Team Builder technology coming to EA Sports College Football 25. Players will now be able to access a Team Builder website and use customization tools to make your own logos, uniforms, helmets, and field.

The last time we saw any Custom Team options in this series was actually Madden 12, with the feature disappearing for Madden 13 seemingly never to return. A few years later, they did introduce a relocation mechanic, and EA Sports actually enlisted a fan design contest to create logos and uniforms to be used as relocation team options in Madden 15.

With the exception of a few tweaks to add cities or remove a few team designs they no longer wanted to feature (Mexico City Conquistadores and San Antonio Marshalls), relocation stayed pretty much the same over the last decade. Now, we've finally got confirmation of a new dawn with Team Builder bringing full team customization back to Madden.

There is a catch, as the new Team Builder will actually be exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Madden 25. For players who have held off on a console upgrade, the Madden 25 Franchise Mode changes might be enough to finally take the leap.
