Dead by Daylight's Community Cosmetic Contest Will Return For 2024

Dead by Daylight's Community Cosmetic contest will return in 2024, Behaviour confirmed, although it'll start later this year than previous years. The Cosmetic Contest kicked off in 2019 and has been hosted every year since around April-May, with winners announced in July. Given that developers hadn't said anything about the event returning in 2024, some fans speculated that it was cancelled for this year - or maybe even for good.

Thankfully, Community Manager Peanits confirmed on the Dead by Daylight forums that the team still plans to run the cosmetic contest this year.

While the cosmetic contest is still taking place in 2024, Peanits did confirm that the event "will be starting a little later than usual." For now, there's no official start date for the event; Peanits also noted that developers will announce the Cosmetic Contest as soon as it's ready. 

Dead by Daylight's Community Cosmetic contest allows fans to submit their own cosmetic designs for killers and survivors - and, starting in 2021, both killer charm and survivor charm designs - to be added to the game. One full outfit cosmetic in each category is chosen every year, and is then added to the game as a purchasable cosmetic. 

Some of the game's most popular cosmetics have been added to the game after winning the Design a Cosmetic contest. A few past winners include the popular Mr. Puddles cosmetic for The Clown by kangyaku, Freestyle Claudette by NoheQuin, Never Stop Slashing Legion by Amacky_exe. Last year's winners were Midnight Techwear for Yui Kimura by Aiphelix and Fallen Angel for The Artist by AspriinDbd.
