How To Use Tryks In Dead by Daylight Twisted Masquerade Event

Tryks are a new mechanic available throughout Dead by Daylight's 8th anniversary event. These mysterious cards switch up the game, giving players buffs or debuffs depending on which ones have been drawn. But how do you use them? Here's how to activate Tryks in Dead by Daylight's 8th anniversary event.

How To Use Tryks In Dead by Daylight's Twisted Masquerade 2024

At the very beginning of a trial, the game will select five Tryks from a list - and then one will become active. You can see which Tryks are active in the upper left hand corner of your screen. The active Tryk could either be to your benefit, or your detriment; however, there are ways to change which Tryks are active throughout the trial.

Tryks are universal across killers and survivors in a trial, and so are the points that players earn up to change them. Killers can help activate the next Tryk by Hooking a survivor for the first time, while survivors can do so by finishing a Generator. For every 2 points collectively earned, a new Tryk is activated.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to choose what Tryks are activated. It's a completely random draw from the five random ones that are chosen for your trial. So, activating Tryks can both help you and hurt you - although you really don't have much of a choice whether they're activated, since progressing in the game inherently activates them.

It's also worth noting that all Tryks are disabled once the Exit Gates are powered, and no new ones can be activated at that point.

All Tryks in Dead by Daylight 8th Anniversary Event

There are nine Tryks available, some of which provide buffs while others inflict debuffs. Only five are selected to be activated in any given trial. Here are all of the Tryks and what they do:

• You're Invited - All players instantly receive a charged Invitation.
• No Invite For You! - All players instantly lose an Invitation.
• Peekaboo! - All players have their Aura briefly revealed.
• Move It Or Lose It! - All players gain a Haste bonus for a duration.
• Heal You, Expose You! - All injured Survivors are healed and immediately Exposed.
• Wait, Where...? - Survivors leave no Scratch Marks and the Killer is Undetectable.
• Party Totem! - All Dull Totems are revealed and transform to Anniversary Totems, which remain until the next card.
• Party Chest! - All unopen Chests become Anniversary Chests.
• Zzl Zilch! - Nothing happens.
