Palia received its first major patch update in August 2023 following the release of the game's Closed and Open Beta for PC. As its developer, Singularity 6, plans to release more game updates in the subsequent months ahead of its PC and Nintendo Switch launches, this page will serve as an overview of all the changes, improvements, and new content they add to the game with every subsequent update and patch.

The developers previously stated that these updates to the game are planned to be released every two weeks, with specific details of every tweak and adjustment released via blog posts on the official Palia website. For now, read on for the latest look at Palia's most recent update, including all the new content, adjustments, and bug fixes addressed by the team.

26th June 2024 Update: v0.181 Patch Update Maintenance Period

Developer Singularity 6 announced on social media on 21st June 2024 that the v0.181 patch update for PC via the game's Launcher, Epic Games Store, Steam, and Nintendo Switch will launch on 25th June 2024.

24th May 2024 Update: v0.180 Patch Update Maintenance Period

Developer Singularity 6 announced on social media on 23rd May 2024 that the v0.180 patch update for PC via the game's Launcher, Epic Games Store, Steam, and Nintendo Switch will launch on 28th May 2024.

Palia 0.181 Patch Notes: All New Content, Adjustments & Bug Fixes

The latest patch update has arrived to shake up Kilima Village, as developer Singularity 6 detailed in their official patch notes. The launch of this patch update is the fifth major content update for the cozy MMO in 2024, as it will address some additional bug fixes along with some new content.

For the v0.181 patch update, Bloomin' Bounties, Palians can now receive Party Buffs that increase loot drops with a new Achievement relating to Party Buffs now added to the game. Another feature from the Maji Market: Luna New Year festivities can be found in Kilima Village as Zeki's Prize Wheel game can see them earn new rewards.

A new furnishing set has also been added to Palia in this update, which is connected to Zeki's Prize Wheel game for Palians to try their luck acquiring. Lastly, the update has introduced more Building Block variants in-game as Gold, Iron, and Copper items are now available to get and craft from their Worktable.

Palia 0.181 Patch Update: New Content, Features, & Mechanics

Decor & Furnishing:

  • Arr, matey! Prepare to bring new treasures to your home plot! Zeki’s Prize Wheel contains a new set of Pirate Decor Furniture for all you scallywags looking to bring a bit of the sea to your home plot.
    • The following items are now available to win through Zeki’s Prize Wheel:
      • Pirate Grimalkin Chest
      • Pirate Navigator Maps
      • Pirate Pilfered Frame
      • Pirate Seafaring Kegs
      • Pirate Secret Scroll
      • Pirate Ship’s Cannon
      • Pirate Ship’s Flag
      • Pirate Stolen Frame
      • Pirate Tankard
      • Pirate Tattered Cloths
      • Pirate Wanted Poster
      • Worn Mouse Plush
    • These items will also add a bit of glimmering treasure to your home plot and can be purchased from the Black Market register:

Gameplay – Party Buffs:

  • Grab your pals and Party Up. Party Buffs are here! Party Buffs bring new ways for you to enjoy Palia with pals.
  • When you party up with others and partake in activities with a party member nearby, you and your party member will receive a buff that provides a chance at doubled loot and making progress towards special Party-based Accomplishments.
    • These new Accomplishments will provide brand new rewards: Growable Furniture!

Gameplay – Zeki’s Prize Wheel:

  • Zeki’s Prize Wheel is back and better than ever! Head to the Black Market Underground and take a spin of the Prize Wheel for new rewards.
  • Zeki’s procured new goodies just for the Prize Wheel. The loot pool includes old favorites like gold and ingredients, as well as a trove of new items, including new fireworks, furniture, and plushies.
    • The following items are available to win as rewards from Zeki’s Prize Wheel in the form of Prize Bags:
      • Decor Prize Bag (Purple): The Pirate Decor Furniture set
      • Fireworks Prize Bag (Pink): Various fireworks, including the Crackling, Peony, and Waterfall Fireworks
      • Gold Prize Bag (Green): Gold coins
      • Ingredients Prize Bag (Blue): Various ingredients, including Butter, Milk, and Spice Sprouts
      • Lucky Coin Prize Bag (Brown): Zeki's Lucky Coins
      • Plushie Prize Bag (Gold): Jumbo Ancient Fish Plushie, Jumbo Chapaa Plushie, and Jumbo Maji Plushie

Housing:

  • Building Blocks can be made with new materials to make your creations even flashier.
  • Create even more variety in your structures with building blocks, now available in new materials: Copper, Iron, and Gold.
    • The following items are now available:
    • Copper Building Blocks: Builder’s Copper Floor, Builder’s Copper Pillar. Builder’s Copper Ramp, Builder’s Copper Wall, Builder’s Large Copper Crate and Builder’s Small Copper Crate
    • Gold Building Blocks: Builder’s Gold Floor, Builder’s Gold Pillar, Builder’s Gold Ramp, Builder’s Gold Wall, Builder’s Large Gold Crate and Builder’s Small Gold Crate
    • Iron Building Blocks: Builder’s Iron Floor, Builder’s Iron Pillar, Builder’s Iron Ramp, Builder’s Iron Wall, Builder’s Large Iron Crate and Builder’s Small Iron Crate
  • Building Blocks have a limit of 1,000 pieces (which falls under the max limit of 3,000 total decor).
Palia v0.181 Patch Update: New Adjustments & Optimizations

Gameplay:

  • Health bars will appear above the creatures you’re hunting.
    • The health bar will display once a creature takes damage from either you or someone in your party (when you are within range of that party member).
  • Loot bag icons will now appear on your compass.
    • After hunting a creature, dazing an insect, or woodcutting, you’ll see a loot bag icon appear on your compass to guide you to its location. No more playing hide-and-seek with loot bags!

Overworld:

  • You can now fish in the Black Market Underground!
    • A new fishing spot has been uncovered in the center of the Black Market! Cast a line between hotpot games, and here, you will be able to catch the same types of fish that you would find in caves.
  • The Water Temple now has a dedicated map!
    • Our Palian cartographer got a bit lost wandering through the Temple of the Waves but has finally made their way out! You will now be able to see a custom map in this temple.

Social Improvements:

  • With the addition of more Party Buffs and rewards, we want to make it easier for players to party up with each other and figure out where their friends are, so we have added a few improvements to the Social Panel:
    • We have made tracking where your party members are in the world easier – Bring on the X-ray vision so you can spot their name plates through walls and more!
    • You’ll also be able to see when other players are “Looking for Party” with an icon next to their nameplate when exploring the world.
    • You can now tell which map your friends are on! 
    • You no longer need to wait for your friend to invite you to their server and can now make the proactive choice to join their server instead.
    • The Party UI has a few additions to improve its look

Visual Settings:

  • Brightness (Gamma) settings are now available on the Nintendo Switch.

FROGBERT?!

  • Missed out on Frogbert?
  • Don’t worry - while Kaiju Frogbert has disappeared from the Kilima Fields, Zeki has captured the littlest Frogbert plush, and you now have the chance to win it from Zeki’s Machine and to pair it with the Big Frogbert plush login reward.
Palia v0.181 Patch Update: New Bug Fixes

Gameplay:

    • Fixed issues with obtaining the Cozy Ladder recipe from rummage piles
    • Fixed some circumstances where Star Quality Cloud minnows and/or Flow Bugs may have disappeared from inventory
      • Note: This may not address all issues, so please continue sending reports in.
    • Fixed an issue where Switch players would not see the starting timer for Hot Pot

Housing & Decor:

  • You can now remove bay windows in Placement Mode from the Grand Harvest House
  • You can now scroll beyond the visible space within the Permissions section for Plot Settings

Premium Cosmetics:

  • [Switch] Fixed some crashes players experienced while selecting the Sakura outfit in the Wardrobe or the Premium Store
  • [Switch] Fixed some crashes players experienced while browsing the customization options in Jel’s shop

  • Fixed an issue where premium cosmetic tool skins may sometimes not appear to other players

Social:

    • Fixed some circumstances where players are unable to access a new server invite

    • Fixed an issue where players may receive a friend request pop-up notification from players they have previously declined
